Production Associates (General Labour) - Full-Time - Continental Shift (12 hours/day, 3-4 days per week)

This position is for our Stratford, Ontario location.

DYNA-MIG, A Division of F&P Mfg., Inc. is a Japanese Just-In-Time automotive parts supplier. Our large facility of is home to more than 300 fully automated FANUC and Motoman robotic weld cells. Our production processes include Robotic GMAW and resistance welders, Cold Forging, and two E-Coat paint systems. We weld, assemble and paint engine cradles, frames, sub components and service parts.

The Opportunity:

This is a Full-Time permanent position with no contract period! The Production Associate is responsible for manufacturing various automotive parts, which will require working in a team setting with a number of different machines and tools in order to meet production requirements. We are currently looking to fill openings for our continental shift , which is a 12-hour shift where you would typically work 3 shifts a week, and twice a month you are mandated for a Sunday shift (which is paid at double time).

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities:

As a key member in our Production Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Working in a safe manner while informing Lead or Coordinator of safety hazards
  • Wearing all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Ensuring the quality of incoming and outgoing parts
  • Manufacturing and assembling parts
  • Understanding and following QS9000 and IS014001 procedures
  • Meeting daily production requirements through following work instructions
  • Participating in daily 5S program
  • Maintaining cells and stations
  • Accurate documentation recording
  • Maintaining a professional and respectful manner when dealing with all other team members, customers and visitors
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

To be considered for the job, you should have the following credentials:

  • Previous manufacturing experience in an Automotive setting preferred, but not required
  • Experience in GMAW (MIG Welding) an asset, not required
  • Ability to work continental shifts – 12-hour shifts either straight days or straight midnights
  • Ability to work overtime on weekends with short notice
  • Initiative, good attendance record and dependable
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various cells/stations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with little supervision

Quality Engineer

Duties of Position:

  • Provide primary support for new product Launch
  • QA Support for Mass Production
  • Emphasis on Stamping, MIG Welding and Assembly
  • Support supplier process/part approval and development
  • Support development of FMEA Control Plan and APQP
  • Responsible for PPAP submission
  • Participate in improvement projects between Suppliers and internal processes to achieve internal quality goals
  • Participate in quality improvement activities including RPN reduction
  • Process capability assessment through SPC
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering/Quality Assurance or similar

 Experience:

  • Experience with Stamping, MIG welding and Resistance welding
  • Experience with product launch/PPAP submission “Core Tools”
  • Hands on experience in APQP
  • Five years previous experience in automotive manufacturing in product launch
  • Practical measurement skills with basic tools – calipers, micrometers etc.
  • Experience with attribute QC fixtures
  • Experience with GD&T, MSA, SPC
  • Problem solving techniques 5P or 8D
  • Familiar with general OEM standards

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Familiar with requirements of TS 16949 quality system
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitudes for problem solving
  • Ability to read / understand engineering blueprints, standards, etc.
  • Computer literate – MS Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Prioritizing / time management skills, ability to cope with multiple tasks

Shift:

  • 7:00am – 3:30pm
  • May be required to work varying hours dependent on production demands
  • Overtime required

Other:

  • Some travel required
  • Valid driver’s license required

Production Coordinator

We have an opening for a Production Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve safety, quality, delivery and production requirements on a daily basis
  • Provide direction, leadership and ongoing feedback to Production Associates
  • Deliver solutions and support for process improvements and problem solving in the manufacturing process
  • Teach and ensure 5S methodology to maintain a neat and orderly workspace
  • Develop best practices to improve all department activities

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years automotive related leadership experience
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Positive attitude, strong leadership and team building skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve effectively while managing multiple issues in a fast paced work environment
  • Good mechanical aptitude with a hands-on approach
  • Experience with GMAW/RSW welding environment
  • E-coat paint experience an asset
  • Ability to work day/afternoon rotating two weeks about shifts
  • Knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook

E-Coat and Pretreatment Technician

  • Testing pre-treatment chemicals, E-coat, PH levels, etc.
  • Testing paint quality (i.e. thickness of coat, hardness of coat, adhesion, and corrosion resistance)
  • Cleaning and maintaining process equipment
  • Assisting other Technicians with repairs

Qualifications:

To be considered for the job, you should have the following credentials:

  • Knowledge of E-Coat and Pre-treatment
  • Welding experience
  • Plumbing experience is an asset, not required
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer literate Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work short-notice overtime and weekends plus vacation periods
  • Transportation of dangerous goods – forklift license would be an asset
